Social Media Strategy - JenniferVanGrove.com

Back in December when I was exploring my self-employment options, I wasn’t sure what to do about the business card situation. Cards are essential to making sure networking opportunities aren’t lost, but I didn’t want to create a “business” card for what could be a temporary situation (like if an amazing full-time gig opportunity surfaced). Fortunately, there’s an amazing website/company called Moo that lets me leverage my wacky (mine are a little wacky, but yours could be normal) flickr photos to make cute little mini cards.

Check out all 11 13 of my different Moo cards:

The back of each card says the following (and includes a little pic of me):

Add Jenn To Your Network
Email: jvangrove at gmail dot com
Skype: jbruin
Blog: http://insidetherabbithole.com
Cell: xxx.xxx.xxxx

Why I love my Moo cards:

  1. They’re conversation starters.
  2. People think I’m more creative than I really am.
  3. They’re uniquely me.
  4. They help me to stand out in a sea of interesting and smart people.
  5. I can use them socially or professionally. In fact you’ll probably notice that some of the pictures are meant to be a little more provocative than others (don’t you think I look good as a platinum blonde Alice in Wonderland??), and that’s the point.

Sometimes secrets are fun to keep, but if you want to be super cool too you can use your photos already hosted on a number of different photosharing sites, not just flickr, and access them directly via the Moo website. A box of 100 will only set you back 20 bucks + shipping and handling, and I believe you can have up to 100 different mini card designs (now that’s neat).

Want one of my mini cards? Find me in San Diego or at SXSWi and I’ll let you chose the Jenn you want to remember.

Thank you to Phillip Jeffrey for inspiring me to write about my Moo mini cards. His enthusiasm reminded me of my own.
