Jennifer Van Grove, Social Media Strategist and San Diego Blogger » San Diego Twitter Users To Take Over the Pearl Hotel

It’s no secret in San Diego that once a month a diverse group of San Diego Twitter users get together to socialize, network, and put a face to all those Twitter names. Our group, which started with humble beginnings, has grown exponentially in the last few months, and we’ve even be covered by the Union Tribune, and contacted by local businesses who want to host our group. This month’s SDTweetup, tonight at The Pearl Hotel in Point Loma, should be another fantastic gathering of the brightest influencers, developers, designers, marketers, entrepreneurs, and executives in town.

Venue

Our host for the evening is The Pearl Hotel (@thepearlhotel), which is a super cute and trendy hot spot, which was a former motel remolded into an intimate boutique style venue perfect for a private party. The Pearl boasts a number of amenities, including a “dive-in” theatre, and is extremely beautiful.

Food & Drinks

The Pearl is graciously providing our group with a myriad of appetizers to include grilled cheese, miso mustard jidori skewers, bruschetta, and an abundance of salad. I’ve yet to try the food at the Pearl, but I’ve heard from a number of you on Twitter that the food will not disappoint.

Our sponsors are covering a hosted bar which includes complimentary Stella, House Red, House White, and Cucumber Cosmos until our tab runs out. The Pearl does have a full bar and additional drinks can be purchased if needed.

Extra Special Feature

Gabriel Lawrece (@gebl) and I conspired to use the giant screen at the Pearl to project tweets from the group onto the screen. Since our group has grown beyond the point where we can do formal introductions, both Gabe and I felt that using the screen to highlight tweets from the group would be a great way to connect on twitter and face-to-face in real time. At the very least it should make for some funny tweets.
