Social Media Strategy - JenniferVanGrove.com

We’re living in times when information is power, when the citizen journalists of this world have access to tools (from mobile phones to social media apps) to report real-time news related to the local emergencies that matter most to them. Wouldn’t it be great to collect all of this data, combine it with mainstream media reports, and distribute it all back to people directly affected by the disaster or emergency?

A group of San Diego’s savviest entrepreneurial minds, including Nate Ritter, who helped spread crucial information when the San Diego Fires were consuming our city, are combining forces on a project code named Hero Channel called Crisis Wire. • Thanks somuch for your support Jenn. I really appreciate it. I hope we do win, because it would be nice to give some $$ to the folks who are going to make this thing a reality.

Thanks for helping spread the word, Jen! Your reputation as a social networker/community builder definitely lends credence to this project, and it's something that will ultimately benefit everyone, especially in times when things get chaotic. Also, I'd like to add that Hero Channel's official name has been decided: Crisis Wire. The site will be at crisiswire.com.
